Access

Whiddy Island lies in Bantry Bay which is serviced by a regular passenger ferry service. The journey from Bantry to Whiddy takes around 15 minutes. There is an excellent pub with a restaurant near the pier. (About a 15-minute walk from the house). The pub also has tennis courts and children's area including crazy golf swings and a climbing area. 

Bantry is a seaside town, with first class hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, gift shops, hair dressers, banks, pubs, etc. It has churches, a library, museum and a well-equipped hospital. It also has a modern sports complex and one of the most scenic Golf Courses in the country. From Bantry there is a regular bus service to Cork City, which has its own Airport and Ferry Services.
